Scripture: Acts 10:19-23
Aura may be “The Home Church You Have Been Looking For!” Hello, I am Dr. J and I want to invite you join us as we explore the powerful truths of the Bible and apply them to our lives. Our preparations to send Christmas Eve invitations to new friends and our Samaritan’s Purse Christmas Shoe Box collection offers a perfect opportunity to think about how we view “missions” and the purpose of the church. Peter’s journey to Cornelius’ house serves as a great model for our contemporary quest to bring the love and truth of Christ into the world. Our question for the day isn’t, “What is mission.” The real question is, “What is the church.” I will note that Peter went to a new place, that going was uncomfortable, and that God’s authority was his strength. Acts chapter 10 reminds us about what the true church is all about—the community of believers going out into the world to help the hurting and to bring hope for the lost. Join us Sunday at 9:30 am as we take a new look at the biblical model for the church and its impact on the community.
