Rev. Dr. Walter Jesuncosky III
Born and raised in Millville, Pastor Walt accepted Christ as his Savior in May, 1971. One month later God called him to prepare for the ministry. Shortly after graduating from Glassboro State College (1977) Pastor Walt received his first pastoral appointment to a three church “Circuit” in the Jersey Pine Barrens. While pastoring in the Pines he graduated from Eastern Baptist Theological Seminary in Philadelphia with a Master of Divinity degree (1980) later adding a Doctor of Ministry degree (1990). Over 42 years of ministry, Pastor Walt has served churches in Mullica Twp., Washington Twp. (Burlington County), Egg Harbor Twp., Millville, Neptune, and Audubon.
Pastor Walt has also been involved in a number of district and conference positions during his 42 years as a pastor including chair of the Commission on Archives and History for both SNJ and GNJ Annual Conferences, Vice President of the Conference Board of Trustees, a member of the conference Board of Discipleship, candidacy mentor, chair of Building and Location in the former Southeast District, and until recently, chair of the Gateway South District Committee on Superintendency.
Pastor Walt and wife of 40 years Carol (nee Andrew) of Sicklerville, have two sons, Walter IV (married to Sarah) and Miles (engaged to Morgan). He retired from full-time ministry in June of 2019 and settled in Audubon. He looks forward to enjoying his grandchildren, travelling, and setting up his massive O Gauge Train Layout in the basement of his home. Now he and Carol wait to see what blessings the Lord has in store for ministry with our new church family at Aura UMC.
