SCRIPTURE Philippians 3:1-11
“Whatever happens, my dear brothers and sisters, rejoice in the Lord. I never get tired of telling you these things, and I do it to safeguard your faith.” Philippians 3:1 NLT
“Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, Rejoice.” Philippians 4:4 NRSV
“As for me, may I never boast about anything except the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ. Because of that cross, my interest in this world has been crucified, and the world’s interest in me has also died.” Galatians 6:14 NLT
Some Questions on Today’s Message…
‘Bragging Rights”
- Have you ever been around a “24/7 Praise Machine?” How do they make you feel?
- What does Paul mean by “rejoice in the Lord?”
- Some rejoicing is in us… “How Cool am I List”
- Paul’s rejoicing was not in himself but in the Lord. How can you tell (and others, too) if you are rejoicing in you or the Lord?
- Think of one way you can honor Jesus in your life by boasting on him.
On Sunday, September 8th, Pastor Jeff and Sandy Tilden will be worshipping at Aura Church as they visit our area. Pastor Jeff will bring the message in the worship service and a reception/luncheon will be held in Tilden Hall to welcome the Tildens back! Spread the word!
