“A Strong Warning about being a Nominal Christian”

The Purpose of the Letter, Jude 1-4.

Jude is writing as a servant, not a master. We have one master, Jesus Christ. He is sharing his concerns with his fellow believers.

1. The Burden. Jude has become increasing concerned with the state of the Church
2. The Bad Guys. They were probably part of the local church who had come up with their own ideas about Christianity quite apart from the teaching of Jesus and Scripture.
3. The Ungodly
4. The Deniers
5. The Contenders. Jude 4 “I find it necessary to write and appeal to you to contend for the faith that was once for all entrusted to the saints.”
