Did notice the total eclipse of the moon about three weeks ago? Although I couldn’t wait to observe this relative rare event, most people I encountered did not seem interested. Umm, maybe a good point—why should anyone be interested in a lifeless rock in the sky? Is the moon just a pretty dot in the night sky, a product of a random collision between the forming earth and a planetoid 4.5 billion years ago. Upon more careful examination, it turns out that no other ojbect in the universe is quite like the moon. Is it possible that our moon can teach us something about the character of God and his plan for you and me. In Sunday’s message I will tackle the age of the moon question and contrast key tenets of evolutionary philosophy with the teachings of the Bible.
