“The Best Interview”

Sunday, September 16, 2018

Job interviews can be intimidating. One of the most feared questions is, what is your greatest weakness? Many dread such a question because an honest answer may torpedo the hope of securing a much desired employment opportunity. Weaknesses don’t play well in our world. To succeed, it’s important to appear strong, capable and in control. While we might impress the world with a clever answer that serves to minimize our weaknesses, God isn’t so easily fooled. The good news is that God has already provided the remedy to our biggest weakness when Jesus went to the cross to pay the price for our sin. When we draw our last breath and go to our final interview, God won’t be impressed with clever answers. Whether or not we get the “job” will instead depend on whether we humbled ourselves, accepted the gift of salvation and lived out our faith in love and obedience. Aura may be “The Home Church You Have Been Looking For!” Join us this Sunday at 9:00am as we look to James 4:7-10 for a fresh new understanding of humility in the Christian life. Dress is casual, worship is traditional, the message is biblical and practical, nursery is optional and there is ample parking.
