 SCRIPTURE LESSON                              Exodus 14:1-14

FROM TODAY’S MESSAGE…

“POPCORN CHRISTIANS”  Exodus 14:1-14

  1.  RECOGNIZE GOD’S PURPOSE

When we face difficulties in life, God wants to accomplish 2 things:

  1. He wants to make known His glory to others
  2. He wants to teach us to trust Him completely.

Exo 14:4 “I will harden Pharaoh’s heart, and he will pursue them, so that I will gain glory for myself over Pharaoh and all his army; and the Egyptians shall know that I am the Lord. And they did so.” NRSV

  1. RETAIN GOD’S PERSPECTIVE:

“13 Moses spoke to the people: “Don’t be afraid. Stand firm and watch God do his work of salvation for you today. Take a good look at the Egyptians today for you’re never going to see them again.” MSG

  1. RELY ON GOD’S PROMISES:

“GOD will fight the battle for you. And you? You keep your mouths shut!” Exodus 14:14(The Message)

“Friends, when life gets really difficult, don’t jump to the conclusion that God isn’t on the job. Instead, be glad that you are in the very thick of what Christ experienced. This is a spiritual refining process, with glory just around the corner.                              1 Peter 4:12-13  The Message
