Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
The presence of the Lord was powerfully present on this 5th Sunday in Lent as we sang songs of praise, prayed together and opened up God’s word. Our message focused on the repentant criminal who was crucified next to Jesus. At first, the encounter seems to be an unfair 11th hour conversion by one who lived a lifetime of violence and sin. A closer look reveals both the mercy and the justice of God and powerfully reminds us about our own debt of gratitude to Him.
On another note, next Sunday is Palm Sunday. Our last Sunday will be April 4th Easter Sunday and, of course our feelings are mixed. We look with anticipation regarding our move to West Virginia but are saddened by the prospect of leaving Aura and moving away from our church friends. Your prayers during this time of transition are greatly appreciated and we thank God for this special chapter in our lives. Finally, on a related note, the district superintendent will meet with members on Thursday 3/25/21 at 11:00am in the meeting room to discuss new pastoral leadership. Everyone is welcome, full members will be able to vote. Be blessed and be a blessing, Pastor Jeff
